Charles Liedtke, PMP®

Charles W. Liedtke, a full-time Senior Management Consultant with University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Business and Industry Services group since 1992, has helped over 250 companies in such areas as Lean Operations, Project Management, Quality Management System Registration, ERP/MRP Implementation, Supply Chain Management, and General Operations Consulting.  His area of expertise is in operations improvements, in a broad range of manufacturing companies and industries.  In addition, he helped establish curriculum for BIS's Lean Operations Institute, Internal Auditor Training, Project Management, SPC, Set-Up Reduction, and numerous other programs.

During his professional career, prior to joining BIS, Mr. Liedtke worked for several companies such as Ethyl Corporation, TLB Plastics, Walbro Corporation, and Signal Plastics, where he held engineering and management positions in Quality, Manufacturing, and General Management.  He also served as Project Director for relocating an ongoing manufacturing business from Illinois to Georgia, while maintaining on-time delivery to existing customers, and for Sanford Corporation's successful installation of a new MRP II hardware and software system, a two-year project involving a project team of fifteen members.

Chuck holds undergraduate degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Plastics Technology from the College of DuPage, and an MBA in Financial Management from Loyola University in Chicago. A PMI®-certified Project Management Professional, he has spoken at numerous American Society for Quality events, and was Product/Process Development Content Expert for the text Manufacturing, A New Generation, Career Communications, Inc. © 2006, a text used for introducing the science of manufacturing to middle-school aged students.
