Beginning VB.NET/Object Oriented Programming
This class prepares individuals to write programs using VB.NET. Students learn the fundamentals of programming in VB.NET, including:
- How to use Windows Forms and Controls
- The VB Programming Language
- NET Programming fundamentals
- Designing and writing object/component driven programs
- Accessing files and databases
- Writing web applications
- Object-oriented programming concepts and theory
Intermediate VB.NET/Object Oriented Programming
This class builds upon concepts and skills learned in the beginning class by covering more advanced tools and techniques in programming VB.NET. The course teaches students object oriented concepts such as operator overloading, attributes, and reflections. Additionally, events, event delegates, streams, ADO.NET, .NET Security, working with managed and unmanaged components, multiple threads, and XML Data persistence are covered, as well as other topics. Knowledge and skill in programming VB.NET and Object Oriented Programming Theory is required for this course. Individuals new to programming or to programming VB.NET should take the Beginning VB.NET course.
Please note: these are not certification courses. These courses are prerequisites for the MCSD program.
